Occupational Therapy at Home in The Basin
We visit adults and children at home across The Basin (3154) and the wider City of Knox. Knox is served by the Angliss Hospital and Wantirna Health, with family homes on hilly streets close to the Dandenong Ranges.
Steps, sloping blocks and bathroom access are common reasons for OT home assessments in Knox.
Coming home from the Angliss Hospital or Maroondah Hospital? Our OT can check home safety, equipment and daily routines so you settle back in safely.
Exercare's occupational therapists help adults, older people and children do more for themselves at home and in the community. We have no waitlist and we work with NDIS participants and Support at Home clients in The Basin.
Adult Occupational Therapy in The Basin
Most of the people we see in The Basin are adults. We help with personal care, cooking and home tasks, routines and memory supports, fatigue management, community access, returning to work or study and home safety.
Example: A 24-year-old in The Basin is finding it harder to shower safely. Our OT assesses the bathroom, trials a shower chair and handheld shower and recommends grab rails, so she can shower independently again.
Support at Home OT in The Basin
For older people in The Basin on a Support at Home plan, our OTs help with home safety, falls risk, equipment and home modifications, including prescriptions under the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme. Allied health is a clinical support under Support at Home, so there's no client contribution. More about Support at Home OT →
Paediatric OT in The Basin
We also see children and teenagers in The Basin, at home, kinder or school. Paediatric OT helps with sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, self-care routines and school readiness. More about paediatric OT →
